On February 17, 1895 Cyclone Steam Fire Engine Company No. 2 was organized from 10 members of the Rhode Island Ones + 15 new recruited members. Thomas Bell was the first Foreman on the newly formed "Cyclones". The Cyclones became responsible for the 1885 steamer Cyclone.

In 1921 the Cyclones became the 1st company in the Westerly Fire Department to have a motorized piece of apparatus w/ a pump when the fire district purchased a 1921 Ahrens-Fox 750 gpm pumper. The 21 Ahrens-Fox was destroyed by fire in 1927 when the Westerly Fire Station burned down.

The Cyclones currently have 30 active members, and 18 Life Members. The Cyclones operate a 2001 Pierce Dash pumper w/ a 1750 gpm pump, a 500 gal water tank, and a 50 gal foam tank. The Cyclones are also responsible for the 1927 Ahrens-Fox 1000 gpm N-S-4 pumper.
