126th Westerly Firemen’s Memorial Parade & Ceremony
Members of the Westerly Fire Department, surrounded by their families, friends, and members of the community, hosted the 126th Westerly Fire Department Firemen's Memorial Parade & Ceremony this last Sunday, 6/8/25.
Members held a brief meeting at 0845 where the Company Charter's were draped and a moment of silence was held for our Departed Members. A parade then kicked off at 0900 throughout Downtown, lead by The Westerly Band. A brief ceremony was held by the memorial stone which lies in between the Fire Station and the Town Hall. The ceremony includes the names of members who have passed with the tolling of a bell after each name is read. This year’s ceremony included the remembrance of Angelo Vero Morrone and Jon A. Babcock, whose service and dedication will not be forgotten.
Light refreshments were served afterwards while members of the community got a first hand look at our Fire Station.
