Westerly, RI – Friday, 11/21/25 — The Westerly Fire Department is proud to announce it has officially become the newest chapter of Project Fire Buddies, a national nonprofit dedicated to supporting children battling critical illnesses.

About Project Fire BuddiesProject Fire Buddies is a 501(c)(3) organization founded by firefighters to bring joy, comfort, and support to children facing serious medical challenges. Through local chapters nationwide, firefighters build meaningful relationships with “Fire Buddies” by making special home visits, celebrating milestones, hosting firehouse experiences, and offering ongoing encouragement to families.

Westerly Fire Chapter Leadership
The new Westerly chapter will be led by:

*Lt. Stephen Alyward, Vice President
*FF Michael Marconi, Vice President
*FF Cameron Reyes, Secretary

This team will oversee outreach, volunteer coordination, and engagement with local families.
