On Sunday August 23, 2020 the Westerly Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 2:38pm to Fox Run in Avondale for a reported garage fire. First arriving units found heavy fire in an attached 2-story garage. With serious fire conditions and high heat and humidity, a 2nd Alarm was struck bringing in Pawcatuck Fire Department and an additional request for manpower from Watch Hill-Fire . Westerly Ambulance Corp the Special Signal Fire Association / Providence Canteen. Dunn's Corners Fire Department provided station coverage for Westerly. Damage was extensive to the entire structure. Thankfully no injuries were reported to the occupants of the home or fire fighters on scene. The RI State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
